Example Use - Product Recommendations

A national hair salon chain wishes to install kiosks in their customer waiting areas, to provide advice on hairstyles and products.

Using the Cammax KMS survey module, they design a questionnaire in which each answer determines the next question (for instance, the question 'do you colour your hair?' is followed by the question 'What do you look for in a hair colourant?' if the answer is Yes, and skips to 'Which of the hair products do you use regularly?' if the answer is No). The answers lead to a hairstyle and product recommendation for the customer, which can be printed out for ease of reference, so that the customer can discuss the recommendations with their stylist, or buy the products in-house.

The survey is created on a PC at head office, and sent to all the salon kiosks via the company network.

After a successful trial, the company decides to offer a greater variety of services via their kiosks, in order to hold the interest of regular customers. Again using the survey software, they create a series of competitions (to be entered by filling in a form) and schedule them to run monthly. They also replicate their website on the kiosks, adding a home page that allows customers to choose Website, Product Recommendations, or Competitions. Finally the company use Priora DS to create a screensaver for times when the kiosk is not in direct use.

Not only does the salon company provide extra services to its customers, keep them entertained as they wait, and experience an increase in product sales but it also benefits by analysing the customers' answers to the survey questions. The Cammax KMS Survey Analysis module collects the survey results from across the country via the company network and updates its reports in real time, allowing the company to see exactly what its customers are saying.
