Hardware Questions

Isn't it just a PC in a box?

A desktop PC as the name suggests is designed to sit on a desk, the kiosk is designed specifically for the public access environment, as are all the components within the unit. Furthermore any equipment to go in the public environment must be HSE, EMC and CE compliant.

Are the kiosks DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) Compliant?

All units are designed specifically with the DDA act in mind, wall mounted units can be mounted at DDA compliant heights, the Archer is side wheelchair accessible and the Powerdesk and Envoy products have been designed totally around the act, in fact the Envoy kiosk was specifically designed in conjunction with the NHS Direct and is in place in over 180 locations countrywide.

Are the kiosks suitable for the public environment?

All our kiosks are designed specifically for the public environment both in terms of Health and Safety and security. The kiosks are manufactured primarily from robust zintec steel and have no visible fixings, furthermore each unit is fitted with security locks.

Are the units reliable?

As our kiosks are designed for the public environment and the conditions therein, on average our hardware meantime between failure is in excess of 400 days.

Do you offer a warranty on the kiosks?

The units come complete with a 12 month RTB warranty, and you can take out full parts and labour warranties for upto 5 years.

Are the kiosks upgradeable?

The PC kiosk controller is a guaranteed form factor allowing you piece of mind to upgrade the unit anytime in the future.

None of your products exactly meet our requirements, do you offer a design service?

We can offer a tailored design service to exactly match your needs, one of our designers will sit with you to understand both your aesthetic and functual needs and we will produce a visualisation and proposal that is both manufacturable and meets all legal requirements.

How much would this design service cost?

Typically about £5,000 but this cost could be amortised over your kiosk roll out.

How do I communicate with the kiosk?

The kiosk comes with the option of analogue modem, ISDN adaptor, ADSL card or network card, some of our customer’s even use satellite communications to update the units.

Can the units be moved?

All units can be floor or wallmounted and can be moved easily by removing the mounting bolts.

Software Questions

Do you offer an integrated software solution?

We can offer a software solution tailored to your requirements, we are thoroughly experienced in design for touchscreen systems and public access.

What about software security?

We offer a comprehensive range of security measures from the initial wrap around secure browser, through to Internet walled gardens and firewalls. Further more we can remotely manage and update the kiosks.

After implementation how do we update the system?

We design the system around your requirements, either we can update the content for you or we can design the solution to allow your staff to update the system easily by a non-technical person.

How do we go about it?

One of our project managers will sit down with you and plan your system, we will then present content designs and a roadmap of the solution. Throughout the process we will liase with you in order to ensure the system meets your requirements.
